Uganda gorilla trekking destinations operated by Native Africa Tours

In Uganda, gorilla trekking adventures center around two key destinations: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Mgahinga National Park. Both parks are located in the southwestern region of the country. Approximately half of the world’s remaining 1063 mountain gorillas inhabit these two parks, making Uganda a significant sanctuary for this endangered species.

When trekking with gorillas in Bwindi and Mgahinga, you can start your journey in any of the five sectors: Ruhija, Buhoma, Nkuringo, Rushaga, and Ntebeko. These locations are home to fully habituated gorilla groups, including the Mucunguzi, Kutu, Posho, Christmas, Katwe, Mishaya, Busingye, Kahungye, Mubare, Bikingi, Bushaho, and Bitukura groups, among others.
