Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

Upon arrival at the Entebbe International Airport, you meet our driver-guide. He will brief you about the 9 Days Budget Uganda Private Safari. You will embark on the drive to Murchison Falls National Park. You will stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking. Lunch will be in Masindi town. Once you arrive at the park, you will proceed with a visit to the Top of the falls. Take pictures at the world’s strongest waterfalls. In the evening, you will check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise on River Nile

You will wake up to an early breakfast and head out for a game drive. You will wake up early to see hunters before they retreat to their hiding places. Some of the animals to see include the big 4 namely; lion, elephant, buffalo, and leopard. More so, you will see grazers like giraffes, waterbucks, and warthogs. Return to your lodge for relaxation and lunch. In the afternoon, you will take a boat cruise on the Nile River. Did you know that the River Nile is the world’s longest river? You are here now, make the most of it. During the boat cruise, you will meet crocodiles and hippos. In the evening, you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale National Park and Bigodi Wetland walk

After breakfast, check out of the lodge and embark on the drive to Kibale National Park. You will enjoy scenic views of the Rwenzori Mountains. Lunch will be along the way. Upon arrival, you will take a walk around the Magombe Swamp and explore the Bigodi Wetland. Here, you will taste the banana beer as well as enjoy the traditional women dancing. In the evening, you will check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After having an early morning breakfast, you will report to the Kanyanchu Park headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, you will take a walk in the forests in search of chimpanzees. The expert rangers make trekking easier and locating the chimps is hassle-free. Upon meeting the chimpanzees, you will be allowed to spend one hour in their presence. Return to your lodge for checkout. You will have lunch and embark on the drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You may visit the crater lakes if you wish to. In the evening, you will check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise

You will start your day with an early breakfast. Later on, you will visit the Kasenyi Sector for a morning game drive. During this game drive, you will see animals like elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, and waterbucks. You will return to your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, you will take a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. Boat cruise excursions in Queen Elizabeth National Park are exceptionally good. You will have a chance to spot crocodiles and hippos. In the evening, you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Morning game drive in Ishasha and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After a leisurely breakfast, check out of the lodge and drive through the Ishasha Sector. This sector is famous for being home to the rare tree-climbing lions. You will spot these cats as they roam the park. If you are a lucky traveler, you may meet them hunting down a buffalo.  Proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with an en-route lunch. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Mountain gorilla trekking and Batwa Community Experience

On the 7th day of your 9 Days Budget Uganda Private Safari, you will start with an early breakfast (about 6:00 am). Later on, you will visit the park headquarters. You will be briefed about gorilla trekking rules and regulations. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park involves having an up-close encounter with these magical apes. Once you meet the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend one hour in their presence. More so, you will see many other primate and bird species. Return to your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, you will visit the Batwa villages. Dinner and overnight will be at the lodge.

Day 8: Morning boat cruise on Lake Bunyonyi and nature walk in Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast, you will take a boat cruise on Lake Bunyonyi. Visit as many islands on the lake as you can afford. Lake Bunyonyi is a famous birding destination in Uganda and Africa at large. Later on, you will drive to Lake Mburo National Park with an en-route lunch. In the evening, you will take a walk in the savannah plains of the park. You will enjoy panoramic views of the sunset. Meet some animals and birds before checking in to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Morning game drive and transfer to Kampala

After breakfast at your lodge, check out and embark on the drive through Lake Mburo. The game drive will introduce you to many animals such as zebras, giraffes, and buffaloes. Later on, you will drive to Kampala via the Uganda Equator. The driver will drop you at the Entebbe airport for your outbound flight. This will mark the end of your 9 Days Budget Uganda Private Safari.
