Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and Kampala city tour or Mabamba Birding Tour

After you arrive at the Entebbe International Airport, you will meet our driver guide. He or she will brief you about the 8 days Uganda flying safari. You will then embark on either a Kampala City tour or a Shoebill tour at the Mabamba Swamp. Mabamba Swamp is the best destination for bird lovers since it is home to many bird species. If you choose a Kampala city tour, you will enjoy the 7 hills of Kampala. A tour of the Buganda Kingdom Palace and Gadhafi mosque is a moment turned into a memory. Dinner and overnight will be at your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe.

Day 2: Fly to Murchison Falls National Park and visit the top of the falls

After breakfast, our company guide will transfer you to Kajansi Airfield. You will get on board for a flight to Murchison Falls National Park. The park is famous for being home to the big four animals (lion, leopard, elephant, and buffalo). The park is also home to the world’s strongest waterfalls – the Murchison Falls. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge while enjoying views of animals. Have a delicious lunch. Later on, you will visit the top of the falls and create a signature of memories. Seeing the waters roar and penetrate the 7-meter gorge will amaze you. There are other simple activities that you may participate in before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise on River Nile

Start your day with a delicious meal at your lodge. An early morning game drive awaits! This game drive is meant for you to see the early risers of the park. You will meet lions and leopards returning to their hiding places. The park is home to many wildlife and bird species. You will spot animals like bushbucks, Uganda kobs, antelopes, giraffes, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, and many more. Some of the bird species to be spotted include; the Abyssinian ground hornbill, African fish eagle, grey-crowned crested crane, and hammer kops, to mention but a few. Return to your lodge for lunch and some relaxation.

In the afternoon, you will take on a boat cruise on the Nile River. This boat cruise will introduce you to many hippos and Nile crocodiles. You will also get a chance to interact with the local fishermen. Another additional activity will be seeing many water bird species. Later in the evening, you will return to your lodge for dinner and spend the night over.

Day 4: Fly to Queen Elizabeth National Park and Chimpanzee Tracking

After breakfast, check out of the lodge and drive to the nearest airfield for a Queen Elizabeth National Park-bound flight. This will not take long until you reach either Mweya Airfield or Kasese Airstrip. Upon arrival, you will meet our driver guide. After the meet and greet, you will drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, you will go chimpanzee trekking in Kyambura Gorge. The activity starts with a briefing. Later, you will be assigned a professional ranger guide. Upon meeting the chimps, you will be allowed to spend one hour in their presence. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga Channel

After breakfast at your lodge, you will embark on a game drive in the Kasenyi Plains of the park. The sector is home to many elephants. This is in addition to animals like leopards, antelopes, warthogs, and buffaloes. The vast expanses are graced with acacia trees and savannah grasslands. In the afternoon, you will return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation. After lunch, you will go to either Katunguru or Mweya for a boat ride. The cruise will give you iconic views of Lake George and Edward. This comes with scenic views of the neighboring Rwenzori mountains. Spare some time and talk to the locals about the many fish species caught in the area. Later on, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Morning game drive (Ishasha Sector) and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Have you thought about tree-climbing lions on this 8 days Uganda flying safari of yours? The day starts with a delicious meal at your lodge. Check out of the lodge and embark on an en-route game drive in the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. During this game drive, you will spot the rare tree-climbing lions. These lions dwell on seeking high elevations to spot prey. On a lucky day, you may land on a pride of lions hunting down an antelope or buffalo. Proceed with an en-route to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park – the home to mountain gorillas. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Mountain gorilla trekking and Batwa Community Tour

This is one of the highlights of your 8 days Uganda flying safari. Start with a lip-smirking meal at your lodge. The driver guide will transfer you to the park headquarters for briefing. After the briefing, you will be assigned a group and ranger guide. Enter the impenetrable thickets of Bwindi and search for gorillas. Did you know that mountain gorillas live in groups? Upon meeting the gorilla family, you will be allowed to spend one hour in their presence. Learn about their behaviors and take as many pictures as you wish. Return to your lodge for dinner and spend the night over.

In the afternoon, you will visit the nearby Batwa communities. The Batwa are one of the indigenous tribes in Africa living in the Virunga areas of Uganda, Rwanda, and D.R. Congo. Take part in their daily chores and create a signature of memories. In the evening, you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Fly to Entebbe – Departure

On the final day of your safari, you will have a delicious breakfast. Later, you will be transferred to Kihihi Airstrip for an Entebbe-bound flight. Upon arrival at the Entebbe Airport, you will be onboard for a flight back home. This will mark the end of your 8 days Uganda flying safari.
