Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park Via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

Once you have arrived at the Entebbe International Airport, you will meet our professional drive guide. He or she will brief you about your 8 Days Luxury Uganda Wildlife and Primate Safari. You will drive through Kampala as you head to Murchison Falls National Park. Your first stop will be at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. A momentous rhino-tracking experience awaits. You will have lunch in Masindi town and then drive to Murchison Falls National Park. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge for dinner and spend the night over.

Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise on River Nile

Wake up as early as your guide advises and have breakfast. Later on, you will go for a game drive in Murchison Falls National Park. The park is home to 4 of the big five animals (lion, leopard, buffalo, and elephant). Spotting any of these animals is guaranteed. More so, the park is home to other animals like giraffes, antelopes, and warthogs. Additionally, you will meet many bird species both common and rift valley endemics. Return to your lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, you will take a boat ride on the Nile River (the world’s longest river). The boat cruise will introduce you to many hippos and crocodiles. You will also see many fish species as well as water birds. You will hike to the top of the falls for yet another thrilling adventure. In the evening, you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

It is now time to visit Uganda’s most famous safari destination. Wake up to a yummy breakfast before hitting the road. The road to Queen Elizabeth National Park is scenic and has iconic views of the snow-capped Rwenzori Mountains. Lunch will be along the way. As you enter Queen Elizabeth National Park, you will take photos at the New Equator Monument and create a signature of memories. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge for dinner and spend the night over.

Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking in Kyambura Gorge and afternoon boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel

This is a primate day on your 8 Days Luxury Uganda Wildlife and Primate Safari.  After a delicious meal, you will visit Kyambura Gorge for chimpanzee tracking. The activity starts with a briefing and then the search for the apes begins. Once you meet the apes, you will be allowed to spend one hour in their presence. Have your box of packed lunch later on. A boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel will follow in the afternoon. During the boat cruise, you will meet many schools of hippos, birds, and crocodiles. Kazinga Channel connects Lake Edward to Lake George. In the evening, you will enjoy sunset views of the Rwenzori Mountains.

Day 5: Morning game drive and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After a delicious breakfast, check out of the lodge and take an extensive game drive in the Ishasha Sector. This sector is home to the rare tree-climbing lions. Other animals to spot include; elephants, buffaloes, leopards, warthogs, Uganda kobs, and many more. Lunch will be along the way as you drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Upon arrival, check in to your booked lodge for dinner and spend the night over.

Day 6: Mountain gorilla trekking and Batwa Community Tour

Another primate day is here. It starts with an early breakfast; you will then drive to the park headquarters for a briefing. You will be led by an experienced ranger on the search for the giant apes – mountain gorillas. Once you meet the gorilla family, you will be allowed to spend one hour in their presence. Take as many photos as your camera can hold but ensure to follow the rules and regulations. Return to your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, you will visit the neighboring Batwa villages for cultural tours. Dance and brew local beer with these amazing locals. In the evening, you will be transferred to a lodge near Lake Bunyonyi.

Day 7: Lake Bunyonyi Boat Cruise and game drive in Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast at your lodge, you will visit Lake Bunyonyi for a boat cruise. The boat will take you through the numerous islands. You will interact with the locals as well as see many species of birds. Later on, you will embark on the drive to Lake Mburo National Park. Lunch will be along the way. In the afternoon, you will take a game drive around the park. The game drive will give you a chance to spot animals like zebras, buffaloes, giraffes, and many bird species. In the evening, you will check in to your lodge for dinner and spend the night over.

Day 8: Guided Nature Walk and Transfer to Kampala – Departure

Visit the Ankole cultural communities and see the long-horned cows. Later on, you will drive to Kampala with lunch and equator stopovers respectively.
