7 Days Gorilla Golden Monkey Trekking and Safari

The 7 days Gorilla, Golden Monkey trekking and safari is an amazing adventure that travelers seeking extreme adventure go for. Detailed Safari Program:

Day 1: Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

This day marks the beginning of your 7 Days Gorilla, Golden Monkey Trekking and Safari. It starts with a long transfer from Kampala or Entebbe that takes about 8 to 10 hours of Driving. You will have a break at the Equator in Kayabwe Town for a picture Moment at this majestic landmark. Proceed with your journey to Mbarara town for your lunch at Igongo Restaurant.

You will then continue with your long drive through Tea, Banana, and coffee plantations until you arrive at your booked lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Golden trekking and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Start your day with breakfast at the lodge and transfer to the park headquarters for the briefing about golden monkeys. You will be assigned a Ranger guide to take you through this Uganda Safari activity. Golden Monkey Trekking Experience in Mgahinga goes for about 2 to 4 hours of the day. Once you find the golden monkeys on your hike, you’re allowed to stay with them for one full hour. During this one hour, you are free to take as many videos and pictures as you can.

Return to the park headquarters at Ntebeko Gate and start your scenic drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking Bwindi and Batwa Community Experience

Morning breakfast as early as 6 am depending on the distance of your lodge to the park headquarters. There is a group of local dancers who entertain you before briefing by the park rangers.

You’re then sub-grouped into 8 people per gorilla family. You then enter the forest to track gorillas while being guarded by 2 armed park rangers from the Uganda Wildlife Authority. You will spend with the gorillas 1 full hour as you watch them live their daily life in the forest.

Return to the park headquarters and go for local Batwa community tour around Bwindi. The Batwa people are referred to as the Keepers of the Forest. These once lived in Bwindi but were pushed out by the park management to give way to conservation and Tourism Projects.

Day 4: Transfer from Bwindi to Queen Elizabeth National Park

You will start your day with a sunrise breakfast at the lodge and then embark on your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will go through Ishasha sector which is found in the southern side of Queen Elizabeth National Park. While here, you will do a safari game drive in search of the Tree climbing lions of Ishasha. Proceed to your lodge in Queen Elizabeth National Park to check in your accommodation.

Day 5: Safari Game Drive and Boat Cruise on the Kazinga Channel

You will start over with the morning breakfast at the Lodge and then go for a game drive.  On the safari drive, you will spot several wildlife like lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, and Hippos.

In the afternoon your guide will drive you to Mweya for a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel. This is a water experience where you will spot hippos, crocodiles, monitor lizards, and different species of Birds. Return to your lodge for an evening relaxation at the poolside.

Day 6: Transfer to Kibale National Park – Afternoon Chimpanzee Trekking

You will have breakfast at the lodge and drive to the Kibale national park for an afternoon chimpanzee trekking. On arrival in the park, you will start the chimpanzee trek which will takes about 2 to 5 hours. 

Day 7: Bigodi community Experience and Transfer to Entebbe

You will have breakfast at the lodge and transfer to the Bigodi community which neighbors Kibale Forest National Park. You will engage in activities like nature walks in the Sebitoli Swamp, banana brewing experience and Local coffee making.

Your guide will transfer you back to Entebbe International Airport for your outbound flights. This will mark the end of your 7 Days Gorilla, Golden Monkey Trekking and Safari in Uganda.
