Detailed Itinerary 

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be ushered into the country by our driver guide. He or she will shortly brief you on what to expect on your 6 days Uganda gorillas and tree-climbing lion safari. You will thereafter be transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This journey will take you for about 7-8 hours and lunch will be en route to the park. By evening, you will have checked into your lodge in the park for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking and Batwa experience

At daybreak, you will be served a hot delicious breakfast to prepare you for the day’s adventures. Immediately after your breakfast, our driver guide will transfer you to the briefing center in Bwindi for a pre-trekking briefing. This briefing prepares you for the trekking experience by taking you through the rules and regulations and the expected code of conduct around mountain gorillas. After this 30-minute session, you will then embark on the trekking experience through the dense forest canopies and thick undergrowth to the habitats of the endangered mountain gorillas. You will spend an hour with the primates after locating them for over 4 or more so hours. You will get to watch them play, feed, groom their young, and take care of their daily chores. After your hour with the primates, you will then head back to the lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon you will then be picked up and taken to the Batwa communities for a cultural experience. Local guides take you through their traditions like customs, values, beliefs, and norms. You will also observe them demonstrate their survival skills like fire-making and hunting. A tale with the elders will feed you with extra knowledge about their history and how they lived in the park. You will conclude your stay in the community with a traditional dance and a visit through their market to support their hustles. In the evening you will head back to the lodge in time for dinner and rest.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After waking up to a delightful breakfast, you will check out your lodge in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Our driver guide will then drive you to Uganda’s most popular safari destination Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will embark on a smooth ride through the country and take a moment to enjoy the beautiful scenery. Visit the green tea fields interact with the workers at the tea factory and observe how tea is made and lunch will be served after. You will thereafter continue your journey to the destination and check in your lodge in the park by evening in time for dinner.

Day 4: Full-day game drive in Ishasha

The fourth day of your trip will as usual begin with an early breakfast. Thereafter you will be driven to the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park for a full-day game drive experience. This experience will lead you straight to the habitats of the tree-climbing lions. You will spot the lions as they sleep off their heavy bellies on the fig and acacia tree branches after a successful hunt the night before. After spending time with the lions, you will have your packed lunch as you enjoy the beautiful scenes of the park. You will also spot several other wildlife species like elephants, buffaloes, leopards, hyenas, warthogs, antelopes, and numerous savannah birds to mention but a few. As evening kicks in and the sun prepares to set, you will head to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Transfer to Kazinga Channel for a boat cruise

As you narrow the days of your trip to Uganda, you will have breakfast at the crack of dawn. In time for your next adventure, our driver guide will be ready to take you there. You will arrive at the Kazinga Channel for a boat cruise experience. This experience will introduce to you the aquatic rulers of Uganda the hippos and crocodiles. You will spot them as dive into the tranquil waters of the Kazinga Channel. After your lunch, you will interact with the local fishermen and observe other animals like elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, and other antelopes as they flock to the shoreline for a drink. You will also witness some hippos heading out from the water to graze because hippos feed under the night cover to avoid the heat of the day. You will then head by to your lodge for dinner.

Day 6: Departure

On this final day of your 6 days Uganda gorillas and tree-climbing lions safari, you will begin your day with a delicious breakfast and check out of the lodge. Our guide will then transfer you to the airport for your departure with a stopover at the equator for a photo moment and lunch. By evening you will be at the airport in time for your departure flight back home.
