6 Days Uganda Gorillas and Shoebill Tour

We are welcoming you to the 6 days Uganda gorillas and shoebill tour which will take you around the country to encounter several tourist attractions. Some of these destinations include; Mabamba Wetland, Queen Elizabeth National Park, and  Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. In this safari, you will engage in activities like gorilla trekking, chimpanzee trekking, canoeing, boat cruising, and game drives. Below is a detailed itinerary for the 6 Days Uganda gorillas and shoebill tour.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Shoebill tour in Mabamba Wetland

On day 1 after your arrival for the 6 days Uganda gorilla and shoebill tour, you will take a boat to Mabamba Wetland for a birding tour. On arrival at the wetland, you will engage in canoeing around the lake as you search for the shoebills. There will be other birds encountered during this safari. Some of these include; the pied kingfisher, African fishing eagle, etc.  You will also see animals like sitatunga and many others.

Day 2: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After your early breakfast, you will proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park in western Uganda. This transfer will take about 6 to 7 hours of the day. Once you arrive in the park, you will refresh and prepare for an evening game drive. During the evening game drive, you will spot several wildlife like lions, leopards, buffaloes, hippos, warthogs, and many others. In the evening, you will check in to your lodge for dinner and spend the night over.

Day 3: Full-day adventure in Queen Elizabeth National Park

A full-day adventure in Queen Elizabeth National Park will start with breakfast and then proceed with a morning game drive in the Kasenyi Sector. In this sector, you will encounter several savannah wildlife that are found in the park. Later in the afternoon, you will take a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel where you will encounter several wildlife on lake shores like hippos, elephants, buffaloes, and many others. Dinner and overnight will be at your lodge.

Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

On day 4 of the 6 days Uganda gorillas and shoebill tour, you will be transferred to Kyambura Gorge for chimpanzee tracking. Tracking chimpanzees will start with a briefing where you will be taught the dos and don’ts of the activity. The activity will take 2 to 4 hours of the day. Upon meeting the chimpanzees, you will be allowed to spend one hour in their presence. Later on, you will go ahead with a transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in southwestern Uganda.

Day 5: Gorilla trekking and Lake Bunyonyi Boat Cruise

On the second last day of the safari, you will have breakfast and then transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing about gorilla trekking. In the briefing, you will the gorilla trekking rules and regulations. Then you will go ahead with the activity which will take about 2 to 7 hours of the day upon where you will meet the gorillas. After the gorilla trekking, you may do an optional Batwa community tour. In this community, you will engage in activities like cultural dance, coffee roasting, and many others. You will drive to Lake Bunyonyi and do a boat cruise. Explore the numerous islands on this lake of many birds. The waters are fresh and safe for swimming. Check in to your lodge for dinner and spend the night over.

Day 6: Transfer back to Entebbe – Departure

On the last day of the safari, you will have breakfast and transfer back to Entebbe. In this transfer, you will make a stopover at the equator for lunch and later you will continue with the transfer to Entebbe. Upon arrival in Entebbe, you will be transferred to the airport for your outbound flight.
