Details of the safari.

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to the Kibale National Park.

Upon arrival at Entebbe Airport, you will meet our company guide who will transfer you to the Kibale National Park in western Uganda. The road to the western part of Uganda is an adventure itself. You will traverse through many small towns, banana and tea plantations. This drive takes about 6 hours with a one hour lunch break at the Gardens Restaurant in Fort Portal.

As soon as you arrive at your Safari lodge near Kibale Forest National Park, you will be briefed by the lodge team and given a room for that night. Take a one-hour break and later embark on a community and swamp walk in Bigodi. This is a local farming experience that will give you an insight into how people live harmoniously with the wildlife of Kibale Forest National Park. While in the community, you visit a local coffee farmer, local crafts market, and Banana gin brewing experience. After all these amazing experiences, you return to your lodge for dinner and accommodation.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest and transfer to the Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Have breakfast at the lodge as early as 6 am and drive to the park headquarters in Kanyanchu.  On arrival at the park headquarters, you will be entertained by a group of local women dancers from Bigodi Community. The head ranger at Kibale will brief you about history of the park and all safety precautions during chimpanzee trekking.

The team at Kibale will split you into small subgroups of not more than 8 individuals. This Subgroup is always guarded by 2 armed rangers who keep you safe from aggressive forest elephants and other wild chimpanzees.

The walk to search for chimpanzees usually takes 2 to 5 hours and once you find them, you’re allowed to spend with them one full hour. You will return to Kanyanchu Visitor Centre and this marks the end of your Chimpanzee Trekking tour in Kibale.

The Guide picks you up and you start your 2 hour journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park. On this Journey you will take a break at the Equator Monument in Queen Elizabeth National park for pictures. You will then proceed to the lodge for dinner and relaxation.
