Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to the Akagera National Park
After your pick up and transfer to Kigali city, you will be transferred to the Akagera National Park. This is the only savannah park in Rwanda with the big five animals. On arrival at the park, you will proceed with lunch at a safari lodge within the park. Then later, you will be transferred to Lake Ihema for the boat cruise. During the boat cruise, you will see different wildlife like hippos, elephants, monitor lizards, and many others. Later on, you will move back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Full day adventure in the Akagera National Park
On day 2, you will start with an early morning breakfast. Then later you move into the park for the morning game drive within the Savannah Park. During the game drive, you will be able to see some wildlife like the big five animals, and the others are giraffes, warthogs, zebras, and many others. Then after, you will go back to the hotel for lunch and relaxation. After your lunch, you will take a hot air balloon in the park. During the hot air balloon safari, you will see different wildlife and have scenic views of the landscape. Then later in the evening, you will go back to the hotel for relaxation and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
On the 3rd day of your 5 days of Rwanda gorillas and game safaris, you will have morning breakfast and then continue with the morning game drive. Later on, you will continue with the transfer to the Volcanoes National Park. During the transfer, you will experience a change in the landscape of the area. On arrival at the park, you will continue to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking and cultural encounters
On this day, you will be transferred to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for the briefing about the gorilla trekking. Later on, you will proceed with the gorilla trekking within the park. Volcanoes National Park is home to about 10 families of mountain gorillas. Each family is tracked by a group of 8 people. The activity will last for 2 to 7 hours of the day. Upon meeting the gorillas, you will have one hour with the gorillas in the park. Later on, you will continue with the cultural encounters where you will visit the gorilla Guardian village for the experience of the Rwandese culture.

Day 5: Hike of the Dian Fossey grave and transfer to Kigali
On this last day of the 5 days Rwanda gorillas and game safaris, you will start with the Hike to the Dian Fossey grave. During the hike, you will have a game ranger who will be explaining to you the history of Dian’s conservation activities towards the gorillas. Upon arrival at the tomb, you will be able to see the other 20 graves of the people who were killed by the poachers. Then later, you will return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. Then in the afternoon, you will proceed with the transfer to Kigali city for the transfer to the airport or the hotel. This will mark the end of your safari.
