ThereWelcome to the spectacular 3 Days Lake Mburo National Park safari. Lake Mburo National Park is located in western Uganda and it’s the 4th largest National Park in Uganda famously known for being a zebra sanctuary, impalas, buffaloes, birds with over 350 bird species, hyenas, elands, oribi, hippos, giraffes and reedbucks.
Lake Mburo National Park is also famous for its best launch cruise and this makes the park one of the most visited all year round. The Park covers an area of about 260km2 thus harboring a variety of wildlife that attracts visitors throughout the year.
Day 1: Pick up from Kampala and transfer to Lake Mburo National Park. Afternoon Boat Cruise
Our guide driver will pick you up from the hotel at 8:00 am and this will be after your breakfast. The guide driver will give you a briefing and then continue to Lake Mburo National Park. The journey will take about 4 hours with a stopover at the Equator where you will take about 30 minutes for pictures and then proceed on your journey.
Reach around 1 pm, check in the hotel, have a quick lunch, and then go for a Boat cruise. Enjoy this activity as you will be able to see most animals alongside water banks especially the hippos, crocodiles, water birds like African jacana, geese & pelicans; find buffaloes drinking water, zebras, impalas, waterbucks, and more. This activity takes about 2-3 hours. Go back to your hotel for an overnight stay in the late evening.
Day 2: Game drive and cycling
Wake up at 7: 00 am, have breakfast, get a short briefing, and embark on a game drive. You will be able to see a variety of wildlife – zebras. Meet herds of buffaloes, schools of impalas, and families of spotted hyenas. You will be pleased by the way these animals associate, and how they hunt especially the hyenas, and leopards as they wind up on their hunting operations. Return to the hotel for relaxation and lunch. In the evening at around 3:00 pm, you will have a cycling adventure where you will be escorted by a ranger, cycling through the forest of wild animals, an activity that is very special and unique compared to other parks’ activities.
This makes Lake Mburo National Park a unique tourist destination. Come back to your hotel for relaxation since the exercise is a bit tiresome but so much muscle stretching and relaxing. You will have your mouth-watering dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Bird watching and transfer back to Kampala
You will wake up as early as 7:00 am, have breakfast, pack your luggage, and embark on a birdwatching experience. You will be able to spot different bird species since the park is home to over 350 bird species including rare but regularly seen species like African Finfoot, African green pigeon, papyrus gonolek,. Narina trogon, Ross’s turaco, and many others. There is also a chance to see as many birds making nests, chirping in the tree brunches. During this activity, you may see primates as well like African blue monkeys, baboons, oribis, zebras and buffaloes. After this activity, embark on your journey back to Kampala.
