Welcome to the 3 Days Kibale Chimpanzee trekking safari – the journey to the Primate Capital of the World! Uganda is a country gifted by nature with extraordinary sites and wildlife. Your 3 days Kibale Chimpanzee Safari will introduce you to the playful primate species and also other smaller species of monkeys while in Kibale National Park. Uganda is home to over 5000 chimpanzees and over 4000 live in Kibale National Park. Other than the chimpanzees, you will also visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, birders paradise, and a hub for many primates and mammals. You will also make cultural tours in the villages of the local people of Batooro and Bakiga people. Let us now view in detail the entire itinerary.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Kibale National Park
You will be picked up on arrival at Entebbe International Airport by our driver guide. He or she will brief you about the 3 days Kibale Chimpanzee Safari or tour. You will then transfer you to Kibale National Park by road. Lunch will be en-route to the park. In the evening, you will check in to your lodge just in time for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary
In the morning after your breakfast, you will be driven to the Kibale National Park offices by our driver for a pre-trekking briefing on the rules and regulations of chimpanzee trekking. After the briefing, you will then be led by the rangers to the forests of Kibale. Here, you will encounter the playful chimpanzee primates of Kibale. Trekking involves walking through the forests in Kibale on the search for chimpanzees. The trekking journey is both tiresome and fun as you can spot some other primate species like blue monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys among others.
After the chimpanzees have been allocated, you will be given an hour with them in their nature habitats. You then head back to the park offices where our driver guide will drive you back to the lodge for lunch. After your lunch, you will commence to Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary a birding haven for birders. You will spot some unique bird species like the shoe bill, African kingfisher, African eagle among others. The wetland also invites primate species like the olive baboons, red-tailed monkeys, blue monkeys and the rest as well as mammal species like antelopes, bush pigs, mongooses among others. After the tour in Bigodi, you be transferred back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Cultural tours and departure
Your last day of your 3 days Kibale chimpanzee safari will begin with a breakfast at your lodge. After that, our driver guide will pick up and take you the local communities from where you will embark on the cultural tours. Cultural tours will introduce you to the Batooro and Bakiga people and learn their cultures. The Bakiga people will entertain you with their Kitaguro the traditional dances and songs as well as their traditional beer enturire. The Batooro are kind and welcoming as they give pet names to their guests known as empako. You will have an en-route lunch as you hit the road to Entebbe International Airport for your departure.
