Welcome to the 3 Days Gorilla Safari in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is located in the southern part of Uganda near the Congo border and Rwanda, adjacent to the Virunga ranges. The Park is one of the few UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) heritage sites which has made it popular and entrusted for its activities. It is famous for its endangered mountain gorillas, bird species of about 346 different types, over 250 trees, and 200 butterflies, making it one of the most visited parks in Uganda.
Bwindi National Park covers an area of about 321 km2 and this vast mass of land provides room for animal prosperity and multiplication, mainly the mountain gorillas.
Day 1. Transfer from Kampala to Bwindi National Park
Wake up from your hotel, have breakfast, and after breakfast at around 8:00 am, our driver guide will pick you up and give you a briefing about the entire journey, and then later you will have to depart.
The journey will take between 7-8 hours but with stopovers at the Equator where the world is at Zero degrees (00 ). You will take pictures, there are also craft shops if you want to buy some souvenirs and then embark on the journey southwards. You will reach the hotel late in the evening, and check-in in for an overnight stay.
Day 2. Gorilla trekking, visit Bayenda Falls, and Cultural tour
Rise as early as 6:30 am, have a mouthwatering breakfast, and then go for briefing until 7:30 am. You will embark on trekking rare gorillas, an adventure that will take about 2-3 hours depending on your hiking speed and also how quickly you get to see the gorillas. Track these apes and then later, continue to the falls. It’s also another exciting activity seeing the waters flow from a high altitude. You will find a lot of birds since the park is home to over 346 bird species thus giving a clear room for birders to meet their favorites.
After these intertwined activities, you will go back to your hotel for lunch and relaxation. After lunch at 3:00 pm, you may go for a cultural tour. Bwindi is mainly occupied by three tribes, the Batwa, Bakiga, and Bafumbira. But the most interesting and most visited is the Batwa. You will enjoy their dances, and they will show you their ancient houses like Omurimbo where they used to rest and acted as a store for meat, honey, etc. After this fascinating activity, you will go back to the lodge for relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 3. Transfer back to Kampala
You will wake up at 7:30 am, have a delicious breakfast, and after you will check-out of the room. mbark on your journey back to Kampala or Entebbe. You will arrive in Entebbe or Kampala late in the evening for departure or night stay. This will mark the end of the amazing 3 Days Gorilla Safari in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
