The 20 days Rwanda, Congo, and Uganda Safari will take you through the popular destinations of the three countries. The safari will start in Rwanda Kigali and still end in Kigali. During the 20 days Rwanda, Congo, and Uganda safari, the destinations you will encounter include; Akagera National Park, Nyungwe Forest National Park, Kahuzi Biega National Park, Lake Kivu, Kibale National Park, Volcanoes National Park, Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, Queen Elizabeth national park, Bwindi impenetrable national park, Lake Mburo National Park and the lake Bunyonyi. You will encounter different wildlife like chimpanzees, gorillas, golden monkeys, lions, leopards, and many others.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to a hotel in Kigali
On arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be picked up and transferred to the hotel within Kigali. While at the hotel in Kigali, you will be left to rest. In the afternoon, you will go ahead with a city tour in Kigali where you will visit the Kigali genocide museum, the Presidents Museum, the Belgium Monument, and many others.

Day 2: Game drive and boat cruise in Akagera National Park
You will start the day with the morning breakfast and then go ahead with the transfer to the Akagera National Park in the east of Rwanda. The transfer will take about 2 to 3 hours of the day. Upon arriving in the park, you will start with a game drive. Later on, go ahead with an afternoon boat on Lake Ihema. This activity allows you to see wildlife like hippos, elephants, crocodiles, and many others.

Day 3: Transfer to the Nyungwe Forest National Park
While in the Akagera National Park, you will start with the morning game drive and during the game drive several wildlife will be seen like lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, rhinos, and many others. Later on, you will be transferred to the Nyungwe Forest National Park. The transfer to this park will take about 5 to 6 hours.

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking and transfer to Bukavu
You will start your day with the chimpanzee trekking in the park which will last for about 2 to 6 hours of the day. You will have one hour to view them. Later on, you will go ahead with the transfer to the Bukavu in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This town is near the Kahuzi Beige National Park. Upon arriving in the town, you will check into the lodge.

Day 5: Lowland gorilla trekking and visit the waterfalls
On day 5 of the 20 days of Uganda, Rwanda, and Congo safaris, you will start with the morning breakfast and then you will proceed with the transfer to the Kahuzi Biega National Park. The transfer will take about 45 minutes and upon arrival, you will start with the briefing about the lowland gorilla trekking. The activity will last for about 2 to 7 hours of the day upon where you will meet the gorillas. Then you have one hour to view the gorillas in their natural habitat. Have lunch and then visit the waterfalls. Dinner and overnight will be at your lodge in Bukavu.

Day 6: Transfer to Rubavu on Lake Kivu
While in Bukavu, you will start the day with breakfast and then you will transfer to Rubavu. As you arrive back in Rwanda via the Cyangungu border, you will start with the check in the migration offices. Then you will take about 4 to 5 hours to reach Rubavu on Lake Kivu. You will arrive at lunchtime and then you will be left to enjoy the beach life on Lake Kivu.

Day 7: Morning boat cruise and transfer to Volcanoes National Park (Bat Caves Tour)
You will start over with a morning breakfast and then go ahead with the transfer to the Volcanoes National Park. The transfer will take about 2 hours of the day. As you arrive in the park you will be left to rest and then in the afternoon, you will start over with the visit to the gorilla guardian village. The visit to this community will engage you in the culture of Rwanda. You will encounter the former poachers of the park. While in the village, travelers will engage in cultural dances, local cuisine preparation, storytelling, and many others.

Day 8: Golden monkey trekking and transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
Golden monkey trekking in the park will start with a briefing about the activity. It will take you to the forests of the volcanoes in search of these primates. The activity will last for about 2 to 5 hours of the day. Later on, you will go ahead with the transfer to the Mgahinga Gorilla National Park through the Cyanika border in Kisoro. As you arrive at the border, you will check into the migration office. You will proceed with the transfer to the Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.

Day 9: Hiking Mountain Sabyinyo and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
You wake up early in the morning and go ahead with the transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park headquarters to check in for the hiking of the Mountain Sabyinyo. You will start the hike and you will be accompanied by the ranger guide. The hike to this volcano is so challenging and it requires one to be fit enough. Then after the hike which will take about 8 hours of the day, you will be transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Day 10: Gorilla trekking and Batwa Community Tour
While in the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, you will be transferred to the park headquarters after your breakfast. As you arrive in the park, you will start with the briefing about the gorilla trekking and then you will go ahead with the gorilla trekking. The activity will last about 2 to 7 hours of the day. Later on, you will visit the Batwa community for the Batwa cultural experience. While in the community, you will start with the cultural dances, storytelling, and many others.

Day 11: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park (En-route game drive in Ishasha)
After your early morning breakfast, you will start over with the transfer to the Queen Elizabeth National Park. The transfer will take about 2 hours of the day to reach the park. You will arrive in the southern sector of the park and you will start over with the game drive various wildlife like the tree-climbing lions will be seen and other wildlife like leopards, elephants, buffaloes, and many others. Then you will proceed to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 12: chimpanzee trekking and boat cruise in the Kazinga Channel
Today, you will start over with the transfer to the Kyambura Gorge for the chimpanzee trekking. The activity will last for about 3 to 5 hours upon where you meet the chimpanzee. You will be transferred to the Kazinga channel for a boat cruise in the afternoon. During the boat cruise at the Kazinga Channel, you will see different wildlife at the banks of the lake like hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, and many others.

Day 13: Game drive and transfer to the Kibale National Park
While in the Queen Elizabeth National Park, you will start over with the game drive in the Kasenyi plains, the northern part of the park. During the game drive, you will see wildlife like warthogs, kobs, hippos, elephants, lions, leopards, and many others. Later on, you will transfer to the Kibale National Park, which will take about 2 hours of travel to reach the park. As you arrive, you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 14: Chimpanzee habituation in Kibale National Park
You will be transferred to the park headquarters for the briefing about the chimpanzee habituation. In this activity, you spend more time with the chimpanzee. You will spend the whole day in the jungle in search of the chimpanzee.

Day 15: Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi wetland tour
While in the Kibale National Park, you will start over with the transfer back to the park headquarters for the briefing about the chimpanzee trekking. The duration for the activity is about 2 to 7 hours of the day upon where you will meet the chimpanzee. Later on, you will proceed with the Bigodi wetland tour and you will encounter different wildlife like birds and small primates. Then you will continue with the community tour where you will engage in coffee roasting banana brewing and many other activities.

Day 16: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
On day 16 of the 20 Days Rwanda Congo and Uganda Safari, you will start with the morning breakfast and then go ahead with the transfer to the Lake Mburo National Park. During the transfer, you will make a stopover at the Igongo Cultural Centre where you will have your lunch. After your lunch, you will engage in the community tour around the center and learn more about the Ankole culture. Then you will hike to the eclipse monument. Then you will go ahead with the transfer to the Lake Mburo National Park.

Day 17: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise
While in the park, you will start over with the morning game drive and a variety of wildlife will be seen like leopards, buffaloes, impalas, zebras, and many others. In the afternoon, you will be transferred to the lake Mburo. You will see several wildlife like crocodiles, hippos, buffaloes, and many others.

Day 18: Nature walk and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
On day 18, you will start over with the morning nature walk around the park and during this walk, you will see several wildlife like zebras, buffaloes, giraffes, impalas, and many more. Then you will go ahead with the transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. The transfer will take about 3 to 5 hours of the day to reach the lake.

Day 19: Explore Lake Bunyonyi
You will have a full-day adventure around Lake Bunyonyi where you will start with the morning breakfast and then continue to the lake for a boat cruise where you will list out the different islands and their history. In the afternoon, you will go cycling around the lake, and during the cycling, you will make a stopover to see the different side views of the lake.

Day 20: Transfer to Kigali – Departure
After your early breakfast at Lake Bunyonyi, you will be transferred to the Katuna border of Rwanda and Uganda. During the transfer, you will check into the migration offices to check into the country. As you arrive in Kigali city you will choose to be transferred to the airport or the hotel of your choice. This will mark the end of your amazing 20 days Rwanda, Congo, and Uganda Safari.
