Day 1: Pick up and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Meet and greet your guide for the next 2 days of safari. Have a briefing including what to pack for the gorilla trekking safari, such as long, long-sleeved pants and sturdy hiking boots. Later, you will transfer to Volcanoes National Park as you drive through the rolling hills of Rwanda and lush vegetation. The drive shall take you about 2 hours and arrive at the lodge for the next 1 night. Arrive at the lodge and enjoy your lunch. In the evening, you may wish to explore some of the villages around the park as well as enjoy the lush green vegetation of the park (optional). Enjoy a delicious dinner and a peaceful overnight.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and Return to Kigali
Rise early in the morning with a heavy breakfast and later gather at the park headquarters for a briefing about gorilla trekking. The briefing includes the rules and guidelines to follow while observing the gorillas in their natural habitats. Later, you will be assigned a specific gorilla family and assigned 2 park rangers to provide security and safety while observing the gorillas.
Begin the actual gorilla trekking process in search of the gorillas as you navigate through the tropical rainforests of the park, where you will encounter other wildlife species as well as different birds. Once you find the gorillas, you will spend 1 hour with them as you learn about their way of life and social behaviours. Remember to collect photo moments that make it a truly unforgettable adventure. Return to the starting point and meet your guide.
Later, you will have lunch and then return to Kigali to your drop-off destination as you conclude your 2-day Gorilla Trekking in Rwanda.
