Detailed Itinerary  

Day 1: Arrival and Kampala City Tour

You will meet our professional driver guide upon arrival at the Entebbe International Airport. He or she will brief you about your 14 Days Uganda Gorilla Tracking Safari. You will take on a Kampala city tour. During the tour, you will visit the Kasubi tombs, Bulange Mengo, Kabaka mile walk, Bahai Temple, local fruit markets, Old Kampala mosque, and many more. Lunch will have to be at a hotel or café around town. You will check in to your hotel for dinner and overnight in the evening.

Day 2: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park and afternoon boat cruise

After breakfast, check out of the hotel and meet your driver guide. You will drive to Lake Mburo National Park. You will make a stopover at the Uganda Equator for photography. Here, you will get a chance to step into the two hemispheres of the earth at the same time. Later on, you will continue to Lake Mburo National Park with an en-route lunch. Through the Nshara gate, you will see wildlife including zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, and many more. Proceed to Lake Mburo for an amazing boat ride. This is to wash away the dust and give you an introductory picture of how your Uganda safari will be. The boat cruise will introduce you to water birds, crocodiles, hippos, and local fishermen. In the evening, you will check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Morning game drive and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, you will take on a morning game drive in Lake Mburo National Park. The park is home to wildlife species including zebras, antelopes, buffaloes, warthogs, and many more. Lake Mburo National Park has numerous trails including the Kigambira Loop, Rwonyo Area, and Ruroko. All these trails are rich with wildlife and bird species. You will also come across the Banyankole herdsmen and see the Ankole long-horned cows. Proceed with an en-route lunch to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge for dinner and spend the night over.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking and Batwa Community Tour

After breakfast at your lodge, you will report to the park headquarters for a briefing about mountain gorilla trekking. For many travelers on a Uganda tour, this is the highlight of their safari. I guess it will be yours too. You will be led by a professional guide ranger into the impenetrable forests of Bwindi on the search for gorillas. Once you meet the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend one hour in their presence. Return to your lodge for relaxation and lunch. In the afternoon, you will check out and embark on a visit to the Batwa and Bakiga communities. This is the right time to witness the fruits of responsible and sustainable tourism in Uganda. The Batwa people are the first beneficiaries of gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Later on, you will transfer to a lodge around Lake Bunyonyi for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Full-day Lake Bunyonyi exploration

Lake Bunyonyi is one of Uganda’s best and famous birding destinations. The lake was named after small birds. The day will start with a delicious breakfast and sunrise views at the Lake. The day belongs to this lake, it will be a busy one as you participate in several tourism activities there. These include; boat cruise excursions, dugout canoeing, high ropes, guided nature walks, and Batwa and Bakiga community tours. Lunch and dinner will be at your lodge.

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park and afternoon game drive in Ishasha Sector

Start your day with a delicious breakfast at your lodge. Check out and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The park is home to many wildlife species. The highlight of the day will be an encounter with tree-climbing lions. These lions are seen in the Ishasha sector of the park. In the evening, you will check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga Channel

After breakfast head out for yet another game drive on your 14 Days Uganda Gorilla Tracking Safari. The safari will take you through the Kasenyi plains of the park. The sector is full of wildlife species like elephants, hippos, and buffaloes. You will also see savannah bird species. Lunch will be at your lodge. In the afternoon, you will go for a boat cruise at either Katunguru or Mweya. During the boat ride, you will see crocodiles and many hippos. Dinner and overnight will be at your lodge.

Day 8: Transfer to Kibale National Park

You are almost at the Primate Capital of the World! Immediately after breakfast, check out of the lodge and drive to Kibale National Park. Make a stopover in Fort Portal City and visit Amabere Caves. Hike to the top of the world and enjoy scenic views of nature including the crater lakes. Have lunch in the city and proceed to Kibale National Park. upon arrival, check in to your booked lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi Wetland

Imagine a day with primates on your 14 Days Uganda Gorilla Tracking Safari! The day starts with an early breakfast at your lodge. Later on, you will go to the Kanyanchu Park headquarters for a briefing about chimp trekking rules and regulations. The safari involves walking through the thick forests in search of these human-like apes. You will meet several primate species like baboons, red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, and more. The park is also a reliable birding destination.

Upon meeting the chimpanzees, you will be allowed to spend one hour in their presence. Later on, you will return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, you will visit Magombe or Bigodi swamp for a nature walk. Get up close with diverse bird and butterfly species. Visit the banana village, and coffee plantations, and see women dancing traditional dances. Return to your lodge for dinner and spend the night over.

Day 10: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

 After breakfast, check out of the lodge and drive to Murchison Falls National Park. The park is Uganda’s oldest and largest conservation area. It is famous for being home to the world’s strongest waterfalls. Lunch will be along the way. You must experience a slight change in the vegetation zones as you draw closer to the park. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 11: Morning game drive and afternoon game drive

The day starts with a morning breakfast and then embarks on a game drive in Murchison Falls National Park. You will meet multiple animal species including the big 4 animals namely; lion, leopard, elephant, and buffalo. You will also meet many bird species including, savannah birds and Rift Valley endemics. Return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, you will go for a boat ride on the Nile River. The boat will take you to the bottom of the falls. From here, you will hike up the falls for a greater experience. Dinner and overnight will be at your lodge.

Day 12: Rhino tracking and Transfer to Kampala

After breakfast, check out the lodge and drive to Kampala. You will stop for lunch in Masindi. The second stopover will be at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking. The experience is worth your time. proceed to Kampala. You may spend a night in Kampala or proceed to Jinja – the source of the Nile.

Day 13: Jinja city tour – explore the source of the Nile

The whole day belongs to Jinja – the source of the world’s longest River. Some of the activities to participate in include; white water rafting, kayaking, guided nature walks, Jinja City tour, Hiking Ssezibwa Falls, zip-lining, quad biking, and many more. You will have to choose a few according to your budget and preference.  Dinner and overnight will be at your lodge.
