Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park and Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
Upon arrival at the Entebbe International Airport or after breakfast at your hotel in Kampala. You will meet our driver guide. After the meet and greet, he or she will brief you about your 10 Days Best of Uganda Safari Tour. You will then embark on the drive to Uganda’s oldest and largest park – Murchison Falls National Park. You will stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for an amazing rhino tracking tour. Learn about the conservation stories of these rhinos in Uganda and Africa. The next stop will be in Masindi town for lunch and refreshments. Upon arrival at the park, you may visit the top of the falls or spare it for the following day. Check in to your lodge for dinner and spend the night over.

Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise
After breakfast, you will get on your 4×4 safari vehicle and embark on a morning game drive in the park. The park is a vast expanse of rolling hills and savannah grasslands. It will not take long before you start spotting some of the iconic wildlife and bird species. Some of the animals in Murchison Falls National Park include; lions, elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, giraffes, warthogs, waterbucks, bushbucks, and many more. You will enjoy iconic panoramic views of the sunrise. This is one of the best times for photography on a Uganda safari. Make the most of it. Return to your lodge for relaxation and lunch. In the afternoon, you will take a boat on the Nile River. You are now at the world’s longest river. The boat cruise will introduce you to many aquatic species both birds and animals. Meet the Nile crocodiles and large schools of hippos. The boat will take you to the bottom of the falls. From here, you will hike to the top of the world’s strongest waterfalls. Take pictures before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale National Park and Bigodi Wetland tour
After breakfast, check out of the lodge and embark on the drive to Kibale National Park. The road is a mix of rolling hills, lush green vegetation, and trading centers. Lunch will be in Fort Portal City. Once you arrive in Kibale National Park, you will visit the Bigodi Wetland and do a community tour. The banana man in the banana village is worth your time. Taste that banana beer and coffee. Check in to your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, you will go for an amazing chimpanzee trekking safari. Kibale is a gem for primates hence the name “The Primate Capital of the World”. The activity starts with a briefing at the park headquarters in Kanyanchu. After the briefing, you will embark on the search for these magical apes. Upon meeting the chimps, you will be allowed to spend one hour in their presence. Return to the lodge for lunch. Later on, you will drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise at Kazinga Channel
On the 5th day of your 10 Days Best of Uganda Safari Tour, you will explore Uganda’s most famous safari destination. The day starts with an early breakfast followed by a game drive in the Kasenyi sector. The sector is home to multiple wildlife species including elephants, buffaloes, hippos, and antelopes. Around mid-morning, you will return to your lodge for relaxation and lunch. In the afternoon, you will take a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. The channel connects Lake Edward to Lake George. You will see many wildlife and bird species on the channel. The local fishermen will explain to you the numerous fish species caught here. Return to your lodge for dinner and spend the night over.

Day 6: Morning game drive in Ishasha and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, check out of the lodge and take a game drive in the Ishasha sector. You will come across the rare tree-climbing lions along the way. Proceed with an en-route lunch to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is divided into 4 major sectors. These include; Buhoma, Nkuringo, Ruhija, and Rushaga. You will do your gorilla trekking tour in one of these sectors the following day. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge for dinner and spend the night over.

Day 7: Gorilla trekking and Batwa Community Tour
This is the long-awaited day on your 10 Days Best of Uganda Safari Tour. After breakfast, you will go to the park headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, you will start the search for the endangered mountain gorillas in the thickets of Bwindi. The park is also home to diverse primate, plant, and butterfly species. Upon meeting the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend one hour in their presence. Observe and learn about their behaviors and take as many pictures as you wish. Return to your lodge for lunch. Check out of the lodge as you head to the neighboring Batwa and Bakiga Communities. The Bakiga are amazing as they showcase their traditional dances. Later you will proceed for dinner and overnight at a lodge near Lake Bunyonyi.

Day 8: Morning boat cruise on Lake Bunyonyi and transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
Lake Bunyonyi is Uganda’s deepest lake and one of the best birding spots. Start your day with a delicious meal at your lodge. Later on, you will explore the many islands on the lake. The highlight will be the Akempene (Punishment) Island where girls used to be banished in case of teenage pregnancies. Explore the neighboring villages before hitting the road to Lake Mburo National Park. You will have lunch en route and explore Igongo Cultural Centre. A hike to the Eclipse Monument is an extra adventure on this trip. Proceed to Lake Mburo National Park. Check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Horse riding tour and afternoon boat cruise on Lake Mburo
After breakfast, take on a horseback riding safari in Lake Mburo National Park. This is one of the best and most amazing activities on this trip. You will encounter many wildlife species including zebras, leopards, zebras, and buffaloes. Visit the neighboring Ankole communities and meet the long-horned cows. A delicious bush lunch will be organized by the lodge. In the afternoon, you will take a boat ride on Lake Mburo. Explore the lake at length while seeing many water birds. Day 10: Transfer to Kampala – Departure
After breakfast, check out of the lodge and embark on the drive to Kampala. Depending on your flight schedule, you may take an optional guided nature walk before hitting the road.
