Day 1: Pick up and Transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
Upon arrival, you will be picked up by our experienced safari guide. He or she will transfer you to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking. The transfer to this excursion will start at 0700 hours to the sanctuary. It will take about 3 hours to reach the sanctuary and as you arrive, you will start over with the refreshment. Then you will go ahead with a briefing about rhino tracking. During the briefing, you will learn the dos and don’ts about the tracking of the rhinos. Then you will go ahead with the activity and upon meeting the rhinos, you will maintain a distance of 8 meters as you see the rhinos grazing. Expert safari guides will tell you amazing stories of how rhinos were on the verge of extinction.
Then later on you will have your lunch within the sanctuary and then continue with the Nature walk to spot other wildlife within the sanctuary. The wildlife spotted include the giraffes, sitatunga, warthogs, and many others. You may opt for birding. This session takes you on the road to search for shoebill stork. The giant bird will amaze you as it showcases its unbelievable displays. This is a chance to put to test your photography skills. You will proceed with the transfer back to Kampala. Upon arrival in Kampala, you will either be dropped off at the airport or at a hotel of your choice. Say your goodbyes to our team.
