Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Mabamba Swamp Shoebill Tour
After breakfast at your hotel in Kampala / Entebbe or upon arrival at the Entebbe International Airport. You will meet our professional driver guide, and meet and greet. He or she will brief you about your spectacular 1 Day Mabamba Shoebill Tour. You will transfer to the landing site and board a boat to the island. Upon arrival at Mabamba Island, you will be briefed and assigned an expert bird guide. You will start on the search for the shoebill stork. It will not take long to spot these magical birds as they hunt lungfish. The activity is best done in the morning hours of the day. An interaction with the local members of the communities is a must-do. Mabamba Swamp is home to multiple bird species, especially water birds.
Depending on the program for the rest of the day, you may take on the optional Nkima Forest birding walk. The walk will take you through the lush green vegetation while seeing many bird species. Later on, you will board a boat back to Entebbe town. The driver guide will drop you at the Entebbe International Airport for your outbound flight.
